Modification of Orders
Modification of Orders
After judgments of divorce, spousal support, child custody, child support, and/or parenting time are entered, parts of those orders are often subject to modification. While it is possible to modify property divisions in judgments of divorce, it is extremely difficult and unlikely.
There are specific legal grounds for modifications of spousal support, custody, parenting time, and child support. Generally, the requirement starts with “proper cause or a change in circumstances.” However, modifying each issue is unique and fact driven. For that reason, every case is different, since there are no two family law cases with the same specific facts.
